For this project, I began looking at influential designers such as Sacai, Simone Rocca, Maison Margiela, Craig Green etc in order to understand the hybridisation that can occur when designing unconventional garments, for example juxtaposing fabrics/ colours/ techniques/ silhouettes. I decided to mix both masculine and feminine styles by taking inspiration from historical wedding garments in online archives such as the V&A. Research through sketching and analysation of the garments allowed me to generate development ideas, which aided in the formation of my final collection line-up and fabric/concept board.
